The best thing about the movie Salt is Angelina Jolie. The plot shifts throughout the movie. Although these shifts are explained as results within the plot of the film, it changes often enough for movie goers to wonder if they're watching the same film the whole time. First we have the innocent victim, Salt, wrongly accused of being a Russian spy. Then we have the Russian spy, Salt, fulfilling her mission for the Soviet Union. Then that's followed by the vindictive woman, Salt, undermining the Soviet Union and bringing justice to the Soviet Union. The changes of the main storyline are explained easy enough for the audience to follow, but it's too many and too drastic of shifts for the movie to flow well. Along with that, much of the movie is filmed in shadows and at night making some scenes difficult to see and follow. That being said, Salt runs a bout 100 minutes and during that time it's one chase scene and fight sequence after another. That's just win in the action genre. Tom Cruise was originally slated to play the lead in this movie, which would have made it a total Mission Impossible rip. Luckily he passed. If you're looking for a good action flick with fast paced chase scenes, car crashes, and good fighting; then Salt is your movie. If you want a smooth flowing script with clear cut definitions of who the characters are, then Salt is not for you.
